The ancient inhabitants, the Sicanis, called this Region Sicania. When it was colonized by Greek it was denominated Trinachia, for the triangular form that it belonged. The name Sicily the taking from the people of the Siculis.

Considering agricultural growth, the territory of Sciacca produces olives of excellent quality that give birth to Bonolio, a leader olive-oil produced in one of the most strategic and olive-production-oriented territories in the Mediterranean.

On the tirrenic coast of Sicily, near Palermo, there is Aspra, seafaring village where, from centuries it is conserved fish with salt and whose salting technics have been imitated in all the world.
Great tradition and greater abilities have rapresented the context in which Flott spa arose with an establishment on 4.000 metres squared covered, conformed to the EEC normative since 1990.
The right mix between tradition and dinamism of the management staff have permitted to the firm to become in few years a leader of the market of conserved fish, thanks to a range of product of high quality sold to a competitive price.
The products offered by Flott spa are several and they consist in anchovies fillets and baby clams in natural juice or tomato sauce, mackerel and sardines, flavoured with persley or hot pepper, and also tuna in olive oil, soya oil or in natural water.
The different products are available in several sizes, from the small jar of 80 gr and tins of 48 gr to the 2.5 kg jar, both in olive oil, soya oil or sunflower seeds oil.
